3.82 lakh children to be fed Vitamin A

DHAKA, Dec 18, 2017 (BSS) – Around 3.82 lakh children will be fed vitamin A capsule at 1,487 permanent centres in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area on December 23.

The information was revealed at an orientation meeting organised at DSCC auditorium as part of the 2nd phase of Vitamin A campaign.

DSCC chief health officer Brigadier General Dr Sheikh Salahuddin presided over the meeting. Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN) Director Dr ABM Muzharul Islam, Assistant Director Dr Bibhash Chandra Mani, ward councilors of different wards were present on the occasion.

A total of 2,978 volunteers and 276 supervisors will work at the centres to make the campaign successful.

During the campaign, children aged between six to 11 months will be given the blue-coloured high-powered Vitamin A capsule, while children aged between one to five years will be fed red-coloured capsule.
