Mosharraf for development of rural areas to eliminate poverty
DHAKA, Oct 14, 2018 (BSS) – LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain today laid emphasis on accelerating rural development to eliminate poverty.
“Underprivileged people in rural areas should be brought into the mainstream of development for boosting economic progress in the country,” he told a meeting of Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogra in its conference room, an official release said today.
State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Md Moshiur Rahman Ranga, Lawmaker Md Habibur Rahman and Director of RDA-Bogra MA Matin, among others, were present at the meeting.
Mosharraf urged rural development academies to intensify their research works for accelerating rural development.
There are 70,000 registered cooperative associations in the country, he said adding, “We have to spread innovative ideas for improving living standard of poor people.”
