PM leaves for Trinidad and Tobago
 
DHAKA, Nov 25 (BSS) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for Port of Spain, the capital city of Trinidad and Tobago in South America, tonight on a six-day official visit to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

An Emirates flight carrying the Prime Minister departed for
Dubai on way to Trinidad and Tobago.

F M Ruhal Haque, Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr Md
Afsarul Amin, State Minister for Forest and Environment Dr Hasan
Mahmud, Prime Minister's Advisers H T Imam and Maj Gen (Retd)
Tarique Ahmed Siddique, chiefs of three services, diplomats and
high civil and military officials saw the Prime Minister off at
the VVIP tarmac of the airport.

While departing for Dubai, the Prime Minister conveyed Eid
greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of the upcoming holy
Eid-ul-Azha.

She told media that as a member of the Commonwealth,
Bangladesh will play its due role in the meeting and raise
different issues in the forum, especially climate change.

British Queen Elizabeth II will open the Commonwealth Heads
of Government Meeting (CHOGM) on Friday at National Academy for
Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain.

Sheikh Hasina will be among 52 leaders attending the summit,
including Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. She will lead
a high profile Bangladesh delegation to the CHOGM.

The Prime Minister's entourage includes Foreign Minister Dr
Dipu Moni, Ambassador-at-Large M Ziauddin, Foreign Secretary
Mohammad Mijarul Quayes, Bangladesh High Commissioner to London
Dr M Saidur Rahman Khan and Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abul
Kalam Azad.

She is expected to return home on December 4 via London and Dubai.
