CHITTAGONG, Feb 9, 2018 (BSS)- Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) today filed two separate cases against 49 BNP men with Kotwali thana in connection with Thursday's clash in front of party office following a court verdict that sentenced five years jail to BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in a graft case.
Jashim Uddin, Officer in Charge of Kotwali thana, told that one of the cases was filed under Anti-Terrorism Act while another for attacking police in front BNP Nasimon Bhaban office.
Dr Shahdat Hossain, president of Chittagong city unit BNP, is among the accused.
At least 16 persons, including five police personal, were injured in a clash at party office Nasiman Bhaban in the city's Kazir Dewri area centering Khaleda's verdict yesterday.
Kotwali thana police arrested 15 BNP activities, including Dr Shahdat, in this connection.
