GAIBANDHA, Jan 14, 2018 (BSS) - A three-day long development fair-2018 ended at Independence Square of the district town yesterday amid much enthusiasm and festivity.
District administration arranged the fair with the theme of "Role Model of Development, Sheikh Hasina's Bangladesh".
The main objective of the fair was to focus the development activities of the government to build Bangladesh a middle income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041.
A concluding ceremony was held yesterday with additional deputy commissioner (General) Muhammad Mizanur Rahman in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gautam Chandra Pal addressed the function as the chief guest while acting police super Abdullah Al Faruk, civil surgeon Dr. Abdus Shakur, general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, district unit, Abu Bakar Siddique and mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon were present as special guests.
Gautam in his speeches said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina achieved tremendous success in every sector of the country in last nine years and the country is now on the highway of development.
A cultural function was also organised after the discussion. The artistes of Udichi Shilpi Gosti and Bishmoy Sangeet Academy rendered songs and performed dances.
