RANGPUR, Sept 13, 2017 (BSS) - Enactment of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2009 is a big success of the government for ensuring free flow of information and the peoples' right to information at all levels.
The observations came at launching ceremony of the two-day Information Fair- 2017 jointly organised by the district administration and district unit of 'Sochetan Nagorik Committee (SNC)' on Public Library ground here today afternoon.
The fair is being arranged with a view to properly implement the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2009 to ensure free flow of information to establish transparency and accountability everywhere for building a corruption free society.

inaugurated the fair by cutting ribbon in the launching ceremony presided over by President of Rangpur district unit of SNC Mosfeka Razzaque in the chair.
Deputy Director of District Combined Office of ACC Mozahar Ali Sarder and District Primary Education Officer Shahidul Islam addressed the function a special guests.
Different government and non-governmental departments and organisations have set up 30 stalls on the fair premises.
In her welcome speech, Mosfeka Razzaque said if free flow of information could be ensured, transparency and accountability would work, corruption would be reduced, and thus good governance be established at all levels.
She also discussed the RTI Act-2009 in details and highlighted the
commitment and different steps taken by the present government for proper implementation of the Act.
Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu called upon the officials of all government and non- government institutions to work with commitment in disseminating necessary information to the people as dictated by the law.
The chief guest termed the RTI Act-2009 as the major tool in building a knowledge-based society and urged the government and non-government officials to discharge responsibilities with utmost sincerity for proper implementation of the Act.
