Four killed, 40 injured in Gopalganj road accident

GOPALGANJ, June 19, 2017 (BSS) - At least four people were killed and 40 others injured as two buses collided head-on in Domrakandi area under Maksudpur upazila of the district in the afternoon.

Of the deceased, three were identified as bus driver Abul Hossain Shikder, 45, Kausar, 12, son of Jabbar Miah, a resident of Amtoli in Barguna and Munni Akhter, 18, of Bhola district.

In-charge of Jalirpar Police Camp Saha Jamal said a BRTC bus collided head-on with another Dhaka-bound bus of Golden Paribahan at about 1:30pm, leaving one passenger dead on the spot and 43 others injured.

The injured were sent to Rajoir Hospital where three others succumbed to their injuries.

Of the injured, 10 were sent to Faridpur and Barisal Medical College Hospitals in critical condition.
