Meeting vows to maintain peaceful situation during Eid festival

RAJSHAHI, June 19, 2017 (BSS) - Administrative and law-enforcing agencies will work together for ensuring peaceful situation during the forthcoming Eid festival across Rajshahi division.

Tighten security measures will be taken by all authorities concerned so that none can create any unlawful and untoward situation. There will also special measures on all highways and district connecting roads for making the journeys of all home-bound passengers safe and secured.

The observation was made at Rajshahi Divisional Law and Order Committee Meeting held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner here today with Divisional Commissioner Noor-Ur-Rahman in the chair.

Deputy Inspector General of Police of Rajshahi Range Khurshid Hossain, BGB Battalion Commander Lt Col Shamim Masud Iftekhar, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Tanveer Haider Chowdhury and Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Helal Mahmud Sharif, among others, spoke at the meeting.

Besides, high officials from administration, police, RAB, BGB, Ansar-VDP, local government institutions and other members of the committee were present.

The meeting urged the district magistrate and other law enforcing agencies to put in their best efforts to root out militancy, terrorism, terror attacks and all other social crimes.

The district level administrative and police officials and others concerned should have to come forward with all their efforts to eliminate the crimes at any cost as the government is pledged to free the country from the curses.

Divisional Commissioner Noor-Ur-Rahman said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working for the last eight and a half years for the wellbeing of the people.

He urged the district level administrative and police officials and others concerned to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for welfare of the people.
