4 hurt as bricks fall on a house

CHITTAGONG, March 20, 2017 (BSS)-Four people including two college
students suffered injuries as some bricks fell on a tin-shed house from an eight-storey under-construction building at Dhopa Para in Kazir Dewri area under Kotwali thana in the city today.

The injured were identified as Tagar Bala, 70, her grandsons -- Arup Das, 26, an MBA student of Government City College, Shahadeb Das, 23, a final year student of Civil Engineering of city's Polytechnic Institute -- and Tagar Bala's brother Ovi Das, 20.

They were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The condition of Tagar Bala is stated to be critical.

After visiting the spot, Shoibal Das Suman, the councilor of Jamal Khan Ward of the port city, told BSS that some bricks fell on the adjacent tin-shed house where the victims were sleeping at that moment.

He said the owner of the under-construction "'Koshba House" didn't take any safety measures around the building, resulting in the accident.
