Moderate to thick fog, dry weather likely this week

DHAKA, Dec 25, 2017 (BSS) - Moderate to thick fog may occur over the northern part and the river basin areas and light to moderate fog elsewhere over the country from mid night to morning till December 31.

"Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country during this period," Bazlur Rashid, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), told BSS this afternoon.

Day and night temperature is expected to fall by 1-2 degree Celsius over the country during the period.

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining area, said a met office press release, adding that seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

Country's bright sunshine hour was 4.89 hours per day during the last week while it is likely to be between 4.00 to 5.00 hours per day till December 31, the release said.

Country's average of free water loss during the previous week was 2.21 mm per day while it is likely to be between 2.00 to 3.00 mm per day in this week, the release added.
