Met office predicts light to moderate rain

DHAKA, Sept 12, 2017 (BSS) - Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over the country in the next 24 hours ending at 9 am tomorrow.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chittagong, Barisal and Khulna divisions in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today," said a Met office release here.

Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, added the release.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature yesterday was recorded 33.6 degree Celsius at Mongla in Khulna division and today's minimum temperature 22.0 degree Celsius at Bhola in Barisal division. The country's highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 117 millimeters (mm) at Sandwip in Chittagong division. The sun sets at 6:05 pm today and rises at 5:44 am tomorrow in the capital city.
