Expertise meeting on launching new department held at BRUR

RANGPUR, Feb 05, 2018 (BSS) - An expertise meeting was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) last evening to gather opinions for launching a proposed new Department of Disability and Development Studies in the university.

With Vice-Chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah in the chair, Founder and Executive Director of Bangladesh Protibondhi Kallyan Samity Abdus Sattar Dulal attended the event as the expert discussant, a press release said today.

Registrar of BRUR Muhammad Ibrahim Kabeer, Dean at Faculty of Science Professor Dr Tazul Islam, Faculty of Business Studies Dean Professor Dr Ferdous Rahman, Faculty of Arts DeanProfessor Dr Parimal Chandra Barman and Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dean Professor Dr Abu Kalam Md Farid Ul Islam addressed as experts.

President of Begum Rokeya University Teachers' Association Professor Dr Gazi Mazharul Anwar, its General Secretary Tabiur Rahman Prodhan, Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Dr Md Nazrul Islam, Assistant Proctor Tasnim Humaida, among others, spoke.

After elaborate discussions, the speakers raised their opinions in favour of launching the proposed new Department of Disability and Development Studies at BRUR in accordance with the need of the time.

Abdus Sattar Dulal forwarded a number of suggestions for launching the new department in the university and creating disabled-friendly atmosphere for education of the disabled students.
