Trial process of war criminals would be started soon: Sahara Khatun
 
DHAKA, Jan 31(BSS)-Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun today said that the trial processes of the war criminals of 1971 would be started soon.

"The government has emphasized on the maximum preparations for holding the immediate trial of the war criminals just after the partial execution of the verdict of Bangabandhu Murder Trial," she said while addressing a reception to the young lawyers at Dhaka Bar Association here as chief guest.

Chaired by the Convenor of Awami Juba Aiyeenjibi Parishad Advocate AKM Tawhidur Rahman, the function was addressed, among others, by the leaders of Dhaka Bar and Juba Ainjibi Parishad.

The Home Minister said, five of the self-confessed killers
of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family
members were hanged on the night of January 27 last and rest six
killers have been absconding in abroad.

Red notices were served through the International Police
Organisation (Interpol) for their arrest and they will also be
hanged after bringing back them to the country, she said.

She said, the expectation of the people of this country is
being materialized soon through the complete execution of the
Bangabandhu murder trial.

Highlighting the role of lawyers in the trial process of the
Bangabandhu murder trial, Sahara Khatun said that she is also
feeling proud as she was also a lawyer of the trial.

Claiming the present law and order situation of the country
as the best in recent years, she sought all out cooperation of
the lawyers community to maintain the situation in future.
