DHAKA, Jan 31 (BSS)- Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni today said that Bangladesh wants to see successful implementation of the proposal for establishment of a Commonwealth Network of National Election Management Bodies.
Bangladesh has been actively involved in Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's Mission, Foreign Minister said when Deputy Secretary General of Commonwealth Secretariat Ms Masire Mwamba paid a courtesy call on her at her office here, an official release said.
During the meeting, they discussed about the socio-economic and cultural development, climate change, commonwealth network of national election management bodies and parliamentary democracy.
Masire-Mwamba informed the foreign minister that the
Commonwealth Secretariat in Dhaka would organize a seminar on
cooperation between political parties in June 2010.
Dr Dipu Moni said Bangladesh would provide all sorts of
support in this regard.
The Deputy Secretary General of Commonwealth mentioned that
Bangladesh is committed to the fundamental principles of
Commonwealth.
She said that Bangladesh played an important role in the
elaboration of the " Port of Spain Climate Change Consensus"
during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. |
