Hasan for vigilance on BNP's programme on Jan 5

DHAKA, Jan 2, 2018 (BSS) - Publicity and Publication Secretary of the ruling Awami League Dr Hasan Mahmud today asked the ruling party leaders and activists to keep vigil on BNP Programme marking the Democracy Protection Day on January 5.

He also urged the ruling party activists to prevent them with the people if they [BNP] try to make any anarchy in the country on that day.

The ruling party leader made this call while attending a press conference following AL's publicity and publication sub-committee meeting held at Party President Office at Dhanmondi in the capital.

Awami League Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Deputy Office Secretary Biplob Barua, Central Executive Committee member M Anwar Hossain, Golam Rabbani Chinu and Marufa Akhter Popy, among other, were present.

As BNP so far didn't get permission for holding any rally, announcement of such programme to mark the day meant that they are designing to create anarchy, said the AL leader.

To mark the democracy protection day on January 5, the file photos of arson, terrorism unleashed by the BNP-Jammat would be displayed at Shilpakala Academy at 3pm on January 6, he added.

The publicity and publication committee of the ruling party will organize discussion meeting at the same place.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will address the discussion meeting as the chief guest. AL advisory council member and Political Advisor to the Prime Minister HT Imam will chair the meeting.
