19 stranded Bangladeshi crew returning home from India

DHAKA, Mar 5, 2013 (BSS) - Nineteen Bangladeshi crew on a ship stranded in India for five months are returning home following efforts by the government.

The path of their returning opened up as Shipping Secretary Syed Manzurul Islam raised the issue at a secretary level meeting in New Delhi, said an official release.

Indian Shipping Secretary Pradip Kumar Sinha assured his Bangladesh counterpart of taking all measures to sent back the stranded Bangladeshi crew.

Recently, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate and other MPs drew the attention of the Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan about the stranded ship, MV Fatehpur Rahman.
