Programmes taken to celebrate Bangabandhu's birthday in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, March 5, 2013 (BSS)- The 93rd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day will be celebrated in the district on March 17 in a befitting manner.

To celebrate the day, the elaborate programmes have been
chalked out in a preparatory meeting organized by district
administration here on Monday with DC Dr Quazi Anwarul Haque in
the chair.

The programmes include placing wreaths on the portraits of
Bangabandhu, bringing out children's rally, offering prayers at
the mosques, temples and churches, holding milad and doa mahfil,
art, essay and hand writing competition and discussion on the
life and works of the Father of the Nation at schools and
colleges in the district.

Besides, a discussion meeting and cultural function will
also be held at the auditorium of District Shilpakala Academy on
March 17 marking the day.

In addition, improved diet would be served to the children
of Government Shishu Paribars of the town at noon.

Several sub committees have also been formed at the meeting
to make the day's programmes a grand success.

The meeting was also addressed, among others, by additional
district magistrate Kamal Uddin Biswas, civil surgeon Ahad Ali,
nezarat deputy collector Jahid Newaz, general secretary of
district AL Abu Bakar Siddique and commander of Bangladesh
Muktijodha Sangshad, district unit command Nazmul Arefin Tareque.
