Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated across country
DHAKA, July 29, 2014 (BSS) -Nation is celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of the Muslims, today amid due solemnity, fervour, enthusiasm and gaiety ending the holy Ramadan, the month of fasting and abstinence. The very auspicious occasion began with the sighting of the Shawwal moon last evening and reached the climax this morning amid offering the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers by millions from all strata of life at mosques, eidgahs and makeshift prayer venues despite brief spells of rain in the capital and elsewhere across the country. PM seeks people's cooperation to build developed Bangladesh by 2041
DHAKA, July 29, 2014 (BSS) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed her firm optimism to build Bangladesh as a developed and prosperous country by 2041 and sought cooperation of the people to this end. "Before the 2008 general elections we had pledged to establish Bangladesh as a middle income country by 2021. And this time, we have promised to turn Bangladesh into a developed and prosperous nation by 2041," she said. "I have firm belief that we could achieve the goal to build Bangladesh as a developed and prosperous country in the world Insha Allah and for this, we only want "doa" and cooperation of the countrymen," she said.
