Enhancing productivity to attain SDGs underscored

RANGPUR, Oct 02, 2018 (BSS) – Government officials and business community
leaders at a post-rally discussion here today stressed the need for producing
skilled human resources to enhance productivity for attaining the sustainable
development goals (SDGs).

They came up with the opinion at the discussion organised in observance
of the National Productivity Day- 2018 with the theme of “Productivity
Development for Happy and Prosperous Country” here as elsewhere in the
country.

The district administration with Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (RCCI) organised a colourful rally followed by discussion held at
conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on the occasion.

The district level government and non-government officials, chamber
leaders, industrialists, entrepreneurs, students, teachers, civil society
members, journalists and local elites participated in the programmes.

Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib attended the discussion as the chief
guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Rabiul Islam in the
chair.

President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu, Additional Police Super
Saifur Rahman Saif, RCCI Directors Khemchand Somani Rabi, Azizul Islam Mintu,
Reaz Shahid Suman and Debobrata Sarker Ranju, Metropolitan Chamber President
Rezaul Islam Milan, among others, addressed the programme.

The chief guest suggested for producing skilled human resources to
increase productivity and create jobs through industrialisation for
increasing incomes of workers and owners as well as revenue of the government
for faster development.

Highlighting huge developments achieved by Bangladesh in last 10 years,
the speakers stressed the need for increasing productivity to further
accelerate pace of progress in building a middle income nation by 2021 and a
developed country by 2041.

RCCI President Titu the National Productivity Organisation should
arrange training programmes to produce technologically skilled and educated
human resources to further enhance productivity in the industrial,
agriculture, service and all other sectors.

He specially stressed on innovating need-based technologies by
conducting necessary training and research to enhance productivity for
attaining the SDGs on way to achieve sustainable economic growth in every
sector.
