UNFPA-GENDER-SEMINAR (with picture)
Seminar on gender equity held in city
DHAKA, Sept 30, 2018 (BSS) – A national dissemination seminar on a
research titled “Exploring Gender-Biased Sex Selection in Bangladesh: A
Review of the Situation” was held here today at Centre on Integrated Rural
Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) auditorium.
Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament Md Fazle Rabbi Miah was
present at the programme as the chief guest, said a DU press release.
Department of Population Sciences of DU in partnership with United
Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Bangladesh and European Union organised the
event.
Pro-Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University (DU) Professor Dr Nasreen Ahmad,
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Md Abdul
Karim and Country representative of UNFPA Bangladesh Asa Torkelsson, among
others, addressed the function.
