‘Non-fiction Book’ fair begins in DU

DHAKA, Sept 30, 2018 (BSS) – A three-day ‘Non-fiction Book’ fair started here today in Dhaka University (DU) campus amid festivity.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the fair by releasing colorful balloons around 10.30am at Business Studies Faculty premises.

“The ancient books reserved in world famous libraries and museums, are mostly non-fictions. Modern cultures are developed through studying those books. So, it is very necessary to read these books,” Prof Akhtaruzzaman said.

He requested the teachers of the faculty to emphasize on students’ technical and practical knowledge.

The fair was jointly organised by Daily Bonik Barta and Faculty of Business Studies for the fourth time.

After the inauguration, Prof Akhtaruzzaman visited all the 21 stalls of publishers and research organizations who are participating in the fair.

Dean of DU Business Faculty Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Editor of Bonik Barta Dewan Hanif Mahmud, Managing Director & CEO of Agrani bank Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam were present among others.

The fair remains open for all from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm every day till October 2.
