US Senate panel sets initial Kavanaugh vote for 1730 GMT
WASHINGTON, Sept 28, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – The US Senate Judiciary Committee
set an initial vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh for 1:30 pm
(1730 GMT) Friday.
The vote is set to take place one day after a dramatic hearing saw the
judge fight off assault allegations recounted in harrowing detail by his
accuser.
Democrats on the committee expressed outrage and some walked out after
majority Republicans unanimously backed moving forward to a vote without
further investigation of the accusations against Kavanaugh.
“I strongly object. What a railroad job,” said Democratic Senator Mazie
Hirono.
