BFF brings out grand rally marking Bangabandhu Int’l Gold Cup tournament

DHAKA, Sept 27, 2018 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Thursday brought out a grand rally in the city to add new dimension to the prestigious Bangabandhu International Gold Cup Football Tournament scheduled to begin on October 1 in Sylhet.

The rally, led by BFF president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin and BFF senior
vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, was participated by officials of K
Sports, footballers, organizers and football lovers.

The rally, which started from the BFF Bhaban, paraded different streets of
Motijheel area.

This year’s tournament would be the fifth edition of the most coveted
competition named after the name of the Father of the Nation, while this time
BFF is going to organise the tournament after one year interval as the fourth
edition was held in 2016.

The group stage matches will be held in Sylhet, while the two semifinals
are slated in Cox’s Bazar and the final will take place at country’s premier
venue Bangabandhu National Stadium on October 12.

Apart from hosts Bangladesh, Palestine, Philippines, Laos, Nepal and
Tajikistan will compete in the prestigious international tournament. Nepal,
Philippines and Philistine have agreed to send their national teams in the
tournament.

Bangladesh has been drawn in Group B of the 6-nation tournament along with
Laos and Philippines whereas Nepal, Palestine and Tajikistan have been pitted
in Group A.
