Fight against drug, militancy will continue: IGP

SATKHIRA, Sept 27, 2018 (BSS) – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr
Mohammad Javed Patwary today said the fight against drug, militancy and
terrorism will continue until victory is achieved fully against the social
menaces.

“Police and people are jointly fighting against drug, militancy and
terrorism. We’ll have to continue the fight until the victory is fully
achieved against the misdeeds,” he said.

The IGP was addressing a ‘conference against drug, militancy and terrorism’
at Satkhira Stadium here this noon.

Speaking as the chief guest, Patwary said: “The dignity and honour, which
is achieved in home and abroad for successful drives against the anti-social
elements, will have to be upheld further to stamp out those”.

About the country’s socioeconomic development ensued during the tenure of
present Awami league government, he said Bangladesh has already become a role
model for many countries while intellectuals of Pakistan want to build their
country like Bangladesh in the next 10 years.

Chaired by police superintendent of Satkhira Mohammad Sazzadur Rahman, the
function was addressed, among others, by chief of river police Sheikh Sarwar
Hossain, Satkhira district AL president and chairman of district council
Nazrul Islam, deputy inspector general (DIG) of Khulna range police Didar
Ahmed and Satkhira Press Club president Prof Abu Ahmed.
