GOPALGANJ, Sep 27, 2018 (BSS) – Three people were killed and 60 others
injured in two separate road accidents in the district here today.
The deceased were identified as Monoara Begum, 55, hailed from Biswaistordi
village under Moksudpur Upazila, Siful Islam, 18, an inhabitant of Bagerhat
district and Sobed Ali, 55, resident of Kotalipara Upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Moksudpur Thana Mostofa Kamal Pasha said an accident
occurred when the driver of a passenger bus lost control over his steering at
Shishutola Mor in the Upazila this morning. After losing control the bus hit
a roadside tree leaving Monoara dead and 30 passengers injured. The injured
were admitted to Moksudpur hospital.
Besides, two people were killed and at least 30 others wounded as another
passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Bhojergati area under Sadar
Upazila today.
The injured were admitted to Gopalganj General Hospital, said Officer-in-
Charge of Sadar Thana Monirul Islam. Siful, who was the helper of the bus
died on way to Khulna and Sobed Ali succumbed to his injuries at the
hospital.
