MANIKGANJ Sept 27, 2018 (BSS) – The Foundation Stone of ‘Sheikh Rusel Mini
Stadium’ was laid at Bhelabad village under Harirampur Upazila of the
district on Wednesday.
Popular Folk Singer and Lawmaker of Manikganj-2 constituency Momtaj Begum
formally laid the foundation stone as the chief guest. The stadium is being
built on three acres of land donated by Freedom Fighter Shamsuddin Ahmed and
Masudur Rahman.
On this occasion a meeting was held chaired by Elias Mehedi, Upazila
Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Harirampur and Advocate Golam Mohiuddin, Chairman,
Manikganj Zila Parishad was present in the function as the special guest.
Hedayetul Huq Mirza, Project Engineer, Md. Guljar Hossain, President,
Harirampur upazila Awami League, Harirampur Upazila Vice Chairman Abul Bashar
Sabuj, Asduzzaman Chunnu, Chairman, Harukandi Union Parishad and Chowdhury
Mosharraf Hossain Badal, former Chairman of Harukandi union Parishad among
others spoke on the occasion.
M P Momtaj said the government of Sheikh Hasina has been implementing
overall development of the country including sports sector. She said such
kind of donation is appreciated by the government. Momtaj also urged the
people to reelect Awami League for continuing the development of the country.
Jatyo Krira Parishad is implementing the project at a cost of Tk.7411.11
lakh which will be completed by June, 2019.
