HABIGANJ, Dec 11, 2017 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested five suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) form Dighalbagh village in Sadar upazila of the district.
Moniruzzaman, additional police super of RAB-9, today told BSS that the arrestees are also the members of Jamaat-e-Islami. The detainees are identified as Haji Abdul Kuddus, 50, ameer of Sadar upazila unit of Jamaat and activists Abul Kalam, 50, Abdur Noor, 45, Nazrul Islam, 45, and Ruhul Amin, 28, residents of different villages of the upazila.
Moniruzzaman said on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and arrested the five men while they were holding a secret meeting along with jihadi books and anti-government leaflets.
RAB handed over the detainees to the police station and filed a case in this connection, said Police Super Bidhan Tripura.
