Mobilisation of social forces to prevent corruption underscored

RANGPUR, Sept 26, 2018 (BSS) – Anti-corruption activists at a meeting underscored the need for mobilisation and engagement of social forces in raising collective voice of common people to prevent corruption.

They specially called upon members of the district, upazila and union level Corruption Prevention Committees (CPCs) to utilise their clean images in launching anti-corruption movement to create social renaissance in eliminating the curse.

The district CPC organised the meeting at Rangapur Sahittya Parishat auditorium in the city on Tuesday evening with its Acting President Shushanto Chandra Khan in the chair.

The District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and RDRS Bangladesh extended assistance in arranging the event.

Deputy Director of District Combined Office of ACC Sheikh Mohammad Fanafillah as the chief guest addressed the meeting moderated by General Secretary of District CPC Akbar Hossain.

Assistant Director of Rangpur Combined Office of ACC Atikur Rahman, Vice-president of district CPC Dr Nasima Akhter, its Members Banamali Paul, Dr Samorpita Ghosh Tanya, Aftab Hossain, Abu Taleb, among others, addressed.

The speakers put emphasis on strengthening of the CPCs in creating public awareness about consequences of corruption to build a corruption- free developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The chief guest called for mobilising all social forces against corruption and educating the students on the values of honesty to impart positive influence in their behaviour for building a corruption free society.
