Timely implementation of PM’s 10 special initiatives stressed

RANGPUR, Sept 25, 2018 (BSS) – Officials and educationists at a women rally
here today stressed on timely implementation of the Prime Minister’s 10
special initiatives to turn Bangladesh into a middle income nation by 2021.

They also said Bangladesh already achieved a laudable success in women
empowerment by reducing gender disparity following realisation of various
visionary programmes, including the Prime Minister’s 10 special initiatives,
in last 10 years.

They came up with the observation at the women rally organised by District
Information Office (DIO) at Mithapukur Girls’ High School auditorium in
Mithapukur upazila of the district.

The DIO organised the event to inform the women, including female students,
about successes of the present government and future development plans, Prime
Minister (PM)’s 10 special initiatives, preventing militancy, terrorism and
drug abuse.

Mithapukur Upazila Women Affairs Officer Mollika Pervin attended the rally
as the chief guest with Assistant District Information officer Sabiha Akhter
Lucky in the chair.

Headmaster of Mithapukur Girls’ High School Ataur Rahman and its Assistant
Teacher Nishat Sultana, participating women Nushrat Jahan Meem and Sumaiya
Akhter Rima, among others, addressed.

Sabiha Akhter Lucky delivered keynote presentation in the rally
participated by over 300 higher secondary and degree level female students,
their mothers and local elite.

She discussed tremendous successes achieved by the present government in
education, health, women development, agriculture, poverty alleviation,
digitisation, power generation and other sectors and future development
plans.

Lucky also elaborated progress of implementation of the PM’s 10 special
initiatives and successes achieved in preventing child marriage, terrorism
and militancy and ensuring health services and sanitation, vaccination of
babies and hygiene of adolescents.

The chief guest appreciated the present government for implementation of
massive programmes like distribution of education assistance and preservation
of reserved seats in the parliament for the women for speeding up women
empowerment in the country.

“Following implementation of these pragmatic steps, participation of women
in politics, economic activities, administration and every sphere increased
in past 10 years enhancing women empowerment and accelerating national
development,” she added.
