DHAKA, Sept, 24, 2018 (BSS) – The United States (US) expressed its interest
to make investment in telecommunication sector of the country.
The US expressed its interest as its envoy Marcia Bernicat today called on
Posts, Telecommunication and ICT Affairs Minister Mustafa Jabbar at latter’s
ICT Tower office in capital’s Agargaon.
They discussed matters of mutual interest including issues related to
telecommunication and ICT sectors.
Barnicat praised Bangladesh’s progress in telecom sector and sought
Bangladesh’s support for the US in upcoming International Telecommunication
Union (ITU) election.
While talking about recently passed Digital Security Act, Jabbar said the
law was formulated to tackle digital crimes and for the greater interest of
the nation.
Senior officials of ICT Division and American Embassy were present on the
occasion.
