President goes to Kishoreganj Monday on 5-day visit

DHAKA, Sept 22, 2018 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid is set to visit his home district of Kishoreganj September 24-28 to attend several programmes.

“The President will leave for Kishoreganj on Monday for a five-day visit . . . He will address several public meetings and hold view-exchange meetings at Austagram, Itna and Mithamain,” his press secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS today.

This will be the second visit of Abdul Hamid to his village home in the remote areas of Kishoreganj after he took oath of office as the country’s President for the second consecutive term on April 24.

The helicopter, carrying the President, is scheduled to leave Dhaka at about 12 noon.

On Monday, President Hamid will attend a public meeting at Austagram Upazila Playground at about 3 pm. Later he will hold a view-exchange meeting with local political leaders, distinguished personalities, media persons at Rastropoti Abdul Hamid Auditorium in the evening.

The press secretary said the President will witness the progress of development works of Austagram-Nawga and Austagram-Kastul-Banshtala Roads at 11 am on Tuesday.

Abdul Hamid will address another public meeting at the premises of Rastropati Abdul Hamid Government College, Austagram. He will also hold a meeting with the local elite at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Auditorium at 7 pm.

As per schedule, President Hamid will witness Itna-Zila road at 11 am at Itna Upazila on Wednesday. He is scheduled to speak at a public meeting at the Freedom Fighter Abdul Haque Government Degree College field at 1 pm on the third-day of his visit.

On Thursday, he will visit some development works at Mithamain upazila at 12 pm. In the afternoon, he will attend Golden Jubilee program of Hazi Tayeb Uddin School. The President will stay at his own home in the night.

On Friday, President Hamid will say Jumma prayers at the mosque adjoining his ancestral home at Kamalpur village in Mithamain upazila. After the prayers, he will offer fateha at the graves of his father Md Tayebuddin and mother Tomiza Khatun in front of the mosque.

The President is expected to return to Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
