CHANDPUR, Dec 8, 2017 (BSS) – Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram, today described the next parliament election as a war against militancy, war criminals and arson attackers.

“Imbued with the spirit of 1971, pro-liberation forces will have to fight with their highest strength in the next election. We’ll have to uproot terrorism and militancy from this soil forever,” he told a rally at Matlab Uttar upazila, an official release said.

The minister said if Awami League is voted to power in the next election, the spirit of Liberation War will get sharpened.

If AL is defeated, he said, freedom fighters will fall victim to
vengeance.

Referring to an IT park and economic zone at Matlab Uttar upazila, Maya said it has been possible to flourish technology and investment at upazila level because of prudence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said the government has reached electricity to every house even at remote areas.

During the tenure of the Awami League government, the minister said, the war criminals have been brought to justice and few of them have been executed for their crimes against humanity. It helps the nation remove its stigma, he said.

About the arsons attacks, which were carried out to halt the general election in 2014, Maya said the country’s people are peace-loving and that is why they boycotted the party (BNP), which along with war criminals unleashed arson attacks, sabotage and violent acts to kill innocent people.

Knowing their certain defeat in the 2014 election, Maya said, BNP did not take part in the polls which impelled it to the fear of existence.
