Mostafizur stresses drug elimination for smooth national development

RANGPUR, Sept 21, 2018 (BSS) – Minister for Primary and Mass Education
Advocate Mostafizur Rahman, MP, has said elimination of drug trading and
abuse is of the essence for continuation of smooth national development.

“The administration should take a more stern position to resolve the
biggest problem of drug,” Mostafizur said while addressing an anti-drug rally
at Ambari Bazar Eidgah ground in Parbotipur upazila of Dinajpur on Thursday
as the chief guest.

Dinajpur district administration and Department of Narcotics Control
jointly organised the rally to create anti-drug mass awareness with a view to
building a society free from drugs.

With Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Dr Abu Naim Muhammad Abdus Sabur in the
chair, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Department of Narcotics
Control Jamal Uddin Ahmed addressed the rally as the special guest.

The minister said “The drug aggression is destroying the country
hindering the national development process. Therefore, we must free the
society from drug addicts and drug vendors for ensuring smooth national
development.”

“None can stop the current development trend that has started in the
country under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. So why,
drug must not be eliminated to continue the development process,” he said.

Jamal Uddin Ahmed said Bangladesh is changing every day and the country
has already become a global role model of development under the leadership of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Superintendent of Dinajpur Police Abu Sayem, Deputy Director of
Department of the Narcotics Control Masud Hossain, Additional Superintendent
of Police (Fulbari Circle) Rafiqul Islam and Parbotipur Upazila Nirbahi
Officer Rehanul Haq were present.
