Community Clinic Trust Bill, 2018 passes in parliament

SANGSAD BHABAN, Sept 20, 2018 (BSS) – The Community Clinic Health Assistance Trust Bill, 2018 was passed in the parliament with a view to ensuring sustainable and integrated health care services in the rural area and collecting donation for trust fund to run the country’s community clinics.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today moved the bill in the House which was unanimously passed by voice votes with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair.

Piloting the bill, the minister said the enactment of the law will give a permanent shape of the community health care system and it will reach the primary health care services to the doorsteps of the rural people.

Introducing the bill, he said the proposed law will help establish a community health care trust with the support from private organizations and individual person along with the government.

The headquarter of the organization will be set up at Dhaka and its branch offices will be established at anywhere in the country, if necessary with the permission of the government.

Earlier the bill was sent to the concerned parliamentary standing committee on September 18 for further scrutiny.
