Myanmar’s domestic gold price hits record high of this year as USD
appreciates

YANGON, Sept. 19, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – Myanmar’s domestic gold price has
hit over 1 million kyats (672 U.S. dollars) per tical, registering its
highest record this year, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported
Wednesday.

The country’s domestic gold price has been fluctuating after reaching a
record high of 950,000 kyats (633 U.S. dollars) per tical in January this
year.

Contrarily, there is no significant rise in global gold price, maintaining
at 1,199 U.S. dollars per ounce in the market.

Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar exchange rate has been rising since early
August with the Central Bank of Myanmar setting the exchange rate as up to
1,550 kyats per U.S. dollar on Wednesday.
