Water levels in 33 rivers rise, 48 fall

DHAKA, Sept 18, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 33 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 48 stations recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, ten are steady and five are above danger level, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and the Padma rivers are in steady trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The Ganges river is in falling trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The major rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in falling trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The low lying areas of Sirajganj districts may likely to become inundated and the flood situation of Jamalpur, Bogura and Gaibandha districts may have remain unchanged in the next 24 hours.
