Re-elect AL to continue country’s development: Zahid

MANIKGANJ, Sep 17, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Health and Family
Welfare Zahid Maleque, MP, urged the people especially women to reelect Awami
League to continue the ongoing development activities in the country.

He said, “There is no alternative to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in
Bangladesh for further development of the country”. Bangladesh is witnessing
huge uplift activities under the charismatic and dynamic leadership of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added.

The state minister said this while addressing a huge gathering of women of
the three wards of Garpara Union under Manikganj Sadar upazila of the
district.

The meeting was chaired by Md. Afsar Uddin Sarker, Chairman, Garpara Union
Parishad and General Secretary, Manikganj Sadar Upazila Awami League. AFM
Sultanul Azam Khan Apel, Joint Secretary, Manikganj district Awami League and
Md. Israfil Hassain, General Secretary, Manikganj Sadar Upazila Awami League,
among others, spoke on the occasion.

Addressing a prize distribution ceremony of Manikganj Government High
School and Manikganj SK Government Girls’ High School, Zahid Maleque said the
incumbent government has set a record in the world by supplying textbooks
free of cost among the students of all educational institutions across the
country on the first day of the academic calendar.

Besides, stipends have been introduced for girl students at secondary
educational institutions to encourage female education, he added.

The state minister urged the students to build them as worthy citizens of
the country.

The function of SK Govt Girls, High School was presided over by its
Headmaster Rebeka Jahan and the function of Manikganj government high school
was presided over by its Headmaster Rejina Begum.

The functions were addressed, among others, by Rifat Rahman Shamim, SP,
Manikganj and Advocate Golam Mohiuddin, Chairman of Manikganj Zila Parishad.
