DHAKA, Sept 17, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today gave financial assistance of Tk 1.75 crore to 12 persons including the BNP-Jamaat arson attack victims and ailing Awami League leaders and workers.
The premier handed over cheques for donations to them at a function held her office here this noon.
Those who received the donations included Nasrin Begum, wife of Joj Mian, a truck helper of Brahmanbaria, Salma Begum, wife of Monu Mia, a truck driver of the same district, and Rina Parveen, wife of Md Jalaluddin, a slain inspector of Detective Branch of Police.
Joj Mian and Monu Mia sustained serious injuries in petrol bomb attack of the BNP-Jamaat in 2014, while Jalaluddin was killed by the terrorists’ bullet while going to recover illegal firearms.
Besides, the prime minister gave financial assistance to ailing member of Bangladesh Football Federation Fazlur Rahman and former footballer of Abahani Ltd Sheikh Ashraf Ali.
