All RMU institutions come under digitalisation process

RAJSHAHI, Sept 17, 2018 (BSS) – All medical institutions, including both
public and private medical and nursing colleges, under the jurisdiction of
Rajshahi Medical University (RMU) are going to enter the digital era.

“All activities such as data entry, students’ registration and form fill-
up for examination will be done digitally through browsing rmu.edu.bd website
from anywhere and anytime in the country,” RMU Vice-chancellor Prof Masum
Habib said while inaugurating a daylong training workshop yesterday.

The initiative will supplement the government’s efforts to build the
Digital Bangladesh by 2021, he added.

The workshop titled “Students Online Registration in Public and Private
Medical College, Nursing College and Health Institutions” was held at RMU’s
temporary office here.

Chaired by Controller of Examinations Dr Anwar Hossain, the workshop was
addressed, among others, by Rajshahi Medical College Prof Jawadul Haque, RMU
College Inspector Dr Ragib Ahsan and Director of Dinajpur Medical College and
Hospital Dr Sarwar Jahan.

Prof Habib told the function that all the existing public and private
medical, dental and nursing colleges and institutes in Rajshahi, Rangpur and
Khulna divisions were brought under the authority of RMU.

The university will conduct 85 post-graduate courses under nine
faculties, he added.

Appointment was given to some of the major posts including registrar and
controller of examinations aims at bringing dynamism into its activities.

The VC said the university will provide 1,000-bed modern hospital
facilities, adding a nursing institute will also be established for
generating skilled nurses.

Acquisition process of 86 acres of land for establishing the permanent
campus of the university in Borobangram area in the city is progressing fast,
he continued.
