SANGSAD BHABAN, Sept 16, 2018 (BSS) – The government on July 1, 2018 launched a project with Taka 38,397.16 crore to groom children as leader for building the country.
“Under the Primary Education Development Programme (PEDP-4), the government would ensure curriculum revision of the present textbooks of pre-primary and class-I to class-V,” Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman said.
Replying to a starred question from treasury bench member Momtaj Begum of Manikganj-2 in the Jatiya Sangsad, he also said that the project would ensure supply of teaching-learning education materials to all schools and supply of textbooks in due time.
The minister said the Primary Education Development Programme-4 envisages recruitment of 61,166 new primary school teachers including 26,000 pre-primary school teachers and provide salary and allowance from the project.
He said 1,39,174 teachers would get subject based training and 55,000 teachers for foundation/ induction/organizational training.
The minister said the government would provide sub-cluster training to 13,000 teachers, ICT training to 20,000, leadership training to 65,000 teachers and foreign training to 20,000 teachers and officials of the ministry.
