India to launch 2 British satellites

NEW DELHI, Sept. 16, 2018 (BSS/XINHUA) – India will launch two satellites
for Britain on Sunday from its ‘Satish Dhawan Space Centre’ in Sriharikota
off the Bay of Bengal coast in southern state of Andhra Pradesh.

The two satellites will be launched by a polar satellite launch vehicle
(PSLV-C42) at around 22:08 hours, said an official press release issued by
the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The mission is designed to launch two earth observation satellites –
‘NovaSAR’ and ‘S1-4’, together weighing nearly 889 kg, belonging to “Surrey
Satellite Technologies Limited (SSTL)” of Britain under a commercial
arrangement with India’s Antrix Corporation Limited, Department of Space.

Both satellites are planned to be launched into a 583-kilometer Sun
synchronous orbit.
