Govt reaches health services to doorsteps of people: Speaker

Chaudhury today said the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina has reached health services to the doorsteps of people.

“The government has set up more than 12,000 community clinics across the
country to reach health services to the doorsteps of common people. Those
community clinics also provide 32 types of medicines free of cost,” she said
while visiting Hilalpur Community Clinic at Putijuri union under Bahubal
upazila of the district.

The speaker said earlier the common people especially women and children
had to go to distant hospitals to receive health services.

But setting up of community clinics has increased the availability of
health services and made it easier for women and children, she added.

Chaudhury said because of the different initiatives of the government,
child and maternity mortality rate has reduced significantly.

The Speaker said the government has made a huge development in the sector
of information and communication technology to turn the country into a
Digital Bangladesh.

She said now people of remote areas are receiving health tips and other
services from urban physicians through telemedicine.

Chaudhury said the country is moving ahead under the dynamic leadership of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

She urged all to make united efforts to turn the country into a developed
one by 2041 to build a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Jatiya Sangsad Whip Iqbalur Rahim, MP, Md Abu Zahir, MP, Md Abdul Munim
Chowdhury, MP and Amatul Kibria Keya Chowdhury, MP were present on the
occasion, among others.
