Programmes to celebrate Eid-e-Miladunnabi

DHAKA, Nov 28, 2017 (BSS) – An inter-ministerial meeting of the Ministry of Religious Affairs today chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and death anniversaries of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) across the country as elsewhere in the Muslim world with due religious fervor.

A spokesman of the ministry said a series of measures were taken to implement the programmes of the Eid-e-Miladunnabi, to be observed on December 2.

The meeting was held in the conference room of the Ministry recently with Minister for Religious Affairs with its acting secretary Md Anisur Rahman in the chair. The President and the Prime Minister (PM) will give separate messages on the occasion.

The meeting decided to hold hoisting of national flags at all government, semi-government, autonomous bodies and private buildings and armed forces’ establishments.

Road islands and important places will be decorated with national flags and banners inscribed with “Kalima-e-Taiba” in the capital city. Besides, important government and military establishments will be illuminated on the occasion.

As part of the programmes in observance of the day, Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) announced a fortnight- programmes, including discussion on the ‘Life and Works’ of Prophet Hazarat Muhammad (peace be on him), milad- mahfil and doa-munajat.

Besides, Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television and private TV channels will air special programmes on the occasion. The national newspapers will also publish special supplements highlighting the significance of the day.

The day will be a public holiday. All business, commercial and private organizations will remain closed on the occasion.

Eid-e-Miladunnabi will also be celebrated at all Bangladesh missions abroad in a befitting manner.
