No bar to hold polls as political situation stable: Mahmood

DINAJPUR, Sept 13, 2018 (BSS) – Foreign Minister AHM Mahmood Ali today said there is no barrier for holding the next parliament elections as a stable political situation is prevailing in the country.

“A vested quarter is hatching conspiracies to hind the polls. The government is working relentlessly for further development of the country’s people. The next national polls will be held at the right time,” he said, addressing a public rally at Amtoli High School ground in Chirirbandar upazila in the district.

Awami League 10 No. Punati unit organized the rally with its president Moksed Ali Shaher in the chair.

Mahmood said the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has done a massive development in every sector of society. But, a vested quarter is trying to hinder the government’s ongoing development programmes, he added.

The minister urged the countrymen to cast their votes for ‘Boat’ again in the next polls to continue the development activities.

AL Chirirbandar upazila unit President Aybur Rahman, General Secretary Ahasanul Mukul and Organizing Secretary Azimuddin Golap, among others, addressed the rally.

Earlier, the foreign minister inaugurated the construction works of a total of 20.32 kilometers road under five packages and 21 culverts.
