JS body for recruiting manpower at Fisheries Research Institute

MYMENSINGH, Sept 12, 2018 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on
the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry today suggested increasing manpower at
four centres and sub-centres of the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute
(BFRI).

The parliamentary watchdog came up with the suggestion at its 29th
meeting held at BFRI in Mymensingh with committee chairman Mir Showkat Ali
Badsha in the chair, a handout said.

The committee asked the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry to take
necessary measures to achieve the targets set for the fisheries sector in the
Seventh Five Year Plan (2016-2020) in line with the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs).

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Naryan Chandra Chanda, and committee
members Iftekhar Uddin Talukder, Advocate Muhammad Altaf Ali and Advocate
Shamsun Nahar Begum were, among others, present in the meeting.
