Construction work of Bay terminal to begin this year: minister


CHATTOGRAM, Sep 11, 2018 (BSS) – Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan today
said the physical construction work of proposed US$ two billion Bay Terminal
will begin within December this year.

He made the announcement at Hotel Radisson Blue here tonight while
handing over a cheque of Tk 352.62 crore to the Deputy Commissioner of
Chattogram for acquisition of 68 acres land for the terminal.

Speaking at the function, Shajahan Khan said the government of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina can only implement mega projects like construction of
Bay terminal.

Highlighting the government’s massive development works in shipping
sector, he urged people to vote for boat to bring Awami League to power again
for continuation of the country’s development pace.

Chaired by Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) chairman Zulfique Aziz, the
function was addressed, among others, by Chattogram city mayor AJM Nasir
Uddin, MA Latif, MP, and Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) chairman
Abdus Salam.
