Pharmaceutical factory in Rajshahi catches fire; valuables gutted
RAJSHAHI, Sept 11, 2018 (BSS) – A devastating fire that broke out at a
pharmaceutical factory in Rajshahi city burned down assets worth around Taka
20 lakh today.
Abdul Hai, Manager of Chemico Pharmaceutical Factory, said the fire broke
out around 11 am in power substation room on the ground floor of the factory
in Tikapara area under Boalia Police Station.
On information, nine units of fire service rushed to spot and doused the
fire after one and a half hours of hectic efforts.
Nurul Islam, Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense, said the
fire might have originated from electric-short circuit.
He said there were various electrical machineries and instruments including
power transformer and generator in the room.
