Navy rescues 9 fishermen in Bay of Bengal
DHAKA, Sept 10, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy (BN) rescued nine fishermen of
a fishing trawler that sank near to Mongla fairway in the Bay of Bengal this
morning after colliding with a commercial vessel.
Swadhin-3, with 12 fishermen onboard, from Patharghata sank after
colliding with a ship at dawn, an ISPR release said.
BN ship Turag reached the place of occurrence immediately and pulled out
nine fishermen out of the sea.
Two more BN ships, Meghna and Nishan, later joined the operation and
continuously searching for the three missing fishermen.
