JS body for raising age-limit for entry into govt services to 35

DHAKA, Sept 10, 2018 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the ministry of Public Administration today suggested to take measures for raising age limit for entry into and retirement from the government services.

“The age limit should be 35 years for entry into government services along with raising of retirement age,” said the parliament body forwarding recommendations to the ministry of Public administration in this regard.

The recommendations were made at the 31st meeting of the committee with its Chairman H N Ashiqur Rahman in the chair at the Sangsad Bhaban.

Committee members– State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadek, A B M Fazle Karim Chowdhury, R A M Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury, M Abdullah, Mustafa Lutfullah, and Khorshed Ara Haque– attended the meeting.

The committee discussed the issues related to land management and land sale and purchase, progress about age limit for entry into government services and also retirement from jobs and the number of permanent posts from deputy secretaries to secretaries of the government.

The meeting also recommended to the Law Ministry to make transparent depositing of government fees for land management and sale and purchase of land through online.

It also suggested for taking quick measures to merge the BCS Economic cadre with BCS Administration cadre within a short time in the greater interest and development of the country.

Public Administration Secretary, Primary and Mass Education Secretary, Inspector General of Registration Department and officials of Parliamentary Secretariat were also present.
