Press Council Chairman for providing economic security to journalists for objective
DHAKA, Sept 09, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Muhammed Mamtaz
Uddin Ahmed here today said objective journalism cannot be flourished without providing
economic security to journalists.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government formed wage boards and the welfare trust
for journalists to provide their economic security,” he said.
He came up with the observations while addressing as the chief guest at the annual
general meeting of Bangladesh Journalists’ Forum for Consumers and Investors (BJFCI) at
National Press Club.
Justice Muhammed Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed stressed on empowering journalists for
establishing the rights of consumers and building up amiable relationship with the
investors for sustainable growth.
Senior vice-president of press club and acting editor of daily Jugantor Saiful Alam,
Daily Ajkaler Khobor editor Azizul Islam Bhuyian and Joint editor of Bangladesh Pratidin
Abu Taher, among others, addressed the programme.
BJFCI President Faruk Ahmed chaired the programme.
